Position: CAD Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CAD Engineer to support the design, engineering, and implementation of commercial audio visual (AV) and enterprise network systems.

This position is responsible for developing accurate technical drawings, system diagrams, and installation documentation for commercial AV and low-voltage technology projects. The ideal candidate will have strong AutoCAD skills, experience interpreting architectural and construction drawings, and the ability to collaborate with engineering, sales, project management, and installation teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop pre-sales and post-sales technical drawings and installation documentation for commercial AV projects.
\n
• Produce detailed facility plans, equipment elevations, system flow diagrams, signal flow drawings, and cable pull schedules.
\n
• Create network diagrams, AV rack elevations, equipment room layouts, and system infrastructure drawings.
\n
• Prepare, revise, and maintain accurate as-built drawings reflecting completed installations.
\n
• Ensure all technical documentation complies with established design standards, project specifications, and industry best practices.
\n
• Review system designs and installation drawings with engineering, project management, and field implementation teams.
\n
• Support Sales Engineers with conceptual system drawings, preliminary designs, and proposal documentation.
\n
• Coordinate with clients, architects, IT managers, designers, general contractors, electrical contractors, and other project stakeholders.
\n
• Incorporate project changes, field modifications, and client requirements into updated drawings and documentation.
\n
• Maintain organized drawing packages and manage documentation across multiple projects simultaneously.
\n

Required Qualifications

\n
• Proficiency in AutoCAD is required.
\n
• Experience creating or modifying technical drawings using architectural and construction plans.
\n
• Familiarity with low-voltage infrastructure, commercial AV systems, structured cabling, and/or enterprise networking.
\n
• Ability to interpret floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, elevations, and other construction documentation.
\n
• Experience coordinating technical drawings with multiple disciplines and project stakeholders.
\n
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and document organization.
\n
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
\n
• Ability to manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a collaborative environment.
\n
• Self-motivated, dependable, and committed to continuous professional development.

Preferred Qualifications

\n
• Advanced AutoCAD drafting and design capabilities.
\n
• Experience with Autodesk Revit and/or BIM 360.
\n
• Familiarity with commercial AV equipment, AV signal flow, equipment racks, and cabling infrastructure.
\n
• Experience producing installation-ready drawings and final as-built documentation.
\n
• Previous experience supporting AV integration, low-voltage engineering, or technology construction projects.
\n

Education & Experience

\n
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in CAD, Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline preferred.
\n
• A degree or technical school education combined with 1–2 years of relevant experience is desirable.
\n
• Equivalent hands-on drafting experience in commercial AV, low-voltage systems, or related technical industries will also be considered.
